I just finished downloading both of my daughter's syllabi and assignment schedules for the upcoming school year. I also printed off our supply lists for grade 4, grade 6 and grade 8 for all three of my kids. I joined all the new online classes for my daughters, whom I school at home. We school part time at home and part time at an academy. Well, one day a week . . . not sure if that qualifies as part time or not?
This year I will be working full time at the academy . . . just one day a week at the academy and then at home the rest of the week following up with the teachers on schedules and syllabus updates and getting those out to all the families once a week. I'm super excited to be part of the amazing team where my girls go to school. I am also keeping a position I started at the end of May that I have been super quiet about.Read More

Watch your favorite television shows on Netflix! Every morning my girls get up and they look at me with big sleepy face eyes and ask ? "Can we Netflix?" Without fail. They love to scan through and catch up on all their favorite animal shows. In fact, right now, they are watching The House of Magic. The film tells the story of Thunder, an abandoned young cat who stumbles into a magical old mansion operated by a dazzling array of automatons and gizmos.Read More
As the summer months closed on my family, I was left little free time to enjoy my little kiddos as freely as we did over the summer months. We are back in school full time and in the full swing of our school and activity schedules.
My son said to me last night . . . "I only saw the girls for 10 minutes today." I know how he felt! My husband and I are passing the hallways now, tag teaming our kids, to shuffle them from one activity to the next. It is a finely tuned schedule this year I have to say.
Sadly, it also leaves me with little time to savor my kids the way I could over the summer months. I can no longer just sit for hours crafting, reading, playing games or plan a leisure day to do absolutely nothing. We are busy!Read More
Treat everyone with love and kindness, even those who are rude to you . . . this is our family mantra . . . sometimes my kids don't really understand the meaning of this, but I remind them to always be kind to everyone, even if they are not the same to you . . . we do this not because they are nice, but because we are. My kids get that part of it. They don't always remember when dealing with each other after long days, but I can be head saying "love and kindness" in a sing-songy voice at various points in our days.
I want to teach my children, even though they are still very young, that in our lifetime we will meet numerous people. All of these people are significant. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. Everyone deserves our attention and care. Even if the only thing you ever do is smile at that person, they deserve your kindness.Read More
