12th Grade Homeschool Curriculum 2023-2024

Here are my TOP 12th Grade Home School Curriculum picks. Homeschooling 12th-grade students, your high school seniors, and preparing your homeschooled child for the remainder of high school while developing the skills needed for college as well as getting a head start on high school credits doesn’t have to be hard.

TODAY I AM SHARING OUR TOP PICKS FOR 12TH GRADE HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM!

This year my youngest child is officially a 12th-grade student, and we are continuing this homeschooling journey with my last baby. I did not ever think I would homeschool this child all the way through, from the very beginning to the very end. But, I started homeschooling her in Kindergarten all the way through 6th grade. She went to a private Christian school for 6th grade and half of 7th grade. We pulled her out due to bullies in the school. I homeschooled her the remainder of the 7th grade year and all of 8th grade.

She tested and was accepted into our local Magnet high school, but this was right at the height of Corona Virus, and the school would have begun online. We didn’t want to have her start a brand new school without knowing one single other person - online. This was just a terrible situation and we were so heartsick over the decision. We did not want to have her attend a new school online sitting in front of a computer all day for 5 days a week in an uncertain time and she did not want to homeschool all by herself at home.

She asked to return to the private Christian school for 9th grade since that school had made the decision to attend school in person. She also continued there through 10th grade as well. Ultimately, I made the decision to pull her out due to high anxiety caused by the bullies in this school after the end of 10th grade. For 11th grade, we did a combination of dual credit courses at our local community college a a couple of online high school courses since that private Christian school was so far behind in curriculum. In hindsight, I should have just put my foot down and not let her return to that school for high school, but I wanted her to be able to develop deep friendships.

Typical courses for 12th grade might include English, high-level Mathematics like Pre-Calculus or calculus, science (whatever Science class has not been taken yet, either Chemistry, Biology, or Physics), and a Government / Constitution course. A Foreign Language class will also need to be taken if this elective has not had two full years of course taken care of and possibly music and physical education (depending on the state you reside). In addition, students can begin to select courses of interest for electives.

Here are all my previous year’s curriculum posts: 2020-2021 homeschool 10th-grade curriculum, 2019-2020 8th-grade homeschool curriculum, my 2018-2019 homeschool curriculum (for 7th grade) ( for 9th grade) 2017-2018 homeschool curriculum, 2016-2017 homeschool curriculum, 2015-2016 homeschool curriculum, 2014-2015 home school curriculum,  2013-2014 home school curriculum,  2012-2013 school curriculum and 2011-2012 school curriculum posts. It is always amazing to me as each year passes and we have a successful year, especially as I head into my 12th year of FORMAL home education! I never would have thought I would home-educate my children for this long!
