MSI's Summer Brain Games

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.

I am always looking for ways to keep my children entertained and engaged over the summer months. As a homeschooling mom, I am able to sneak in some school work over the summer and my children really don't know that they are still schooling and learning. I heard about a wonderful program that I am going to sneak in to our summer days. MSI(that's the Museum of Science of Industry for you non-Chicago folk) is offering up an exciting science-fused solution to help kids stay engaged during summer vacation.

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago is offering up a fun and free online science program — Summer Brain Games — to keep kids learning this summer and prevent the “summer brain drain.” Summer Brain Games is a great way to combat this by keeping kids thinking and learning over the summer in a fun and engaging way!

If your children are anything like mine, they crave science. I'm not kidding here either. My son begs me to "do experiments" with him. He's going to be a scientist some day and cure some wicked disease so I have no issues whipping up whatever his little mind can think up. My girls are just as excited about science, but in a total artsy way. Growing up, I was not the least bit interested in science and found it utterly boring. However, now that I am an adult and responsible for teaching my children this fundamental {core} and exciting subject, I'm just as interested and engaged as they are. Who knew science could be so fun!

I am so excited to participate in MSI's Summer Brain Games with my kids and can't wait to see what they send up each week!

Each week MSI will send out an email to those who are signed up {if you haven't signed up yet, go NOW! When you register for this fun and free program, you’ll get pass to come to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry for free this summer!}  Each online kit will feature an experiment or science challenge that can easily be performed at home with my children. These online kits are created for children of all ages and will need a bit of adult supervision. The experiments mostly feature items that you can find around your home and it is a great way for families to spend some quality time together and for our children to get outdoors.
