Below I have detailed an ever-expanding recommended list of TV shows available on Netflix right now. These series are based on my personal favorites. I am an insomniac and literally sit up all night, long after everyone else is sleeping and stream through the entire series of various Netflix shows. I’m not particular, well maybe a bit, but they are all excellent.

Virgin River

SEASON 3 is FINALLY OUT NOW!! Virgin River is such a feel-good story! One of my favorite and the show follows the story of Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner and midwife who uproots her big-city existence after the death of her husband and chooses to start over by taking a job in the small, very remote California town of Virgin River. LOVE IT! Virgin River also casts Tim Matheson and Annette O’Toole, who are ADORABLE!

Black Summer

Season 2 is OUT NOW on Netflix!! Jamie King like you have never seen her! Z-Nation and Black Summer creator Karl Schaefer clarified the connection between the two series as "Same apocalypse, different story. ...it is earlier in the same apocalypse. Things haven't got weird yet. " As the series takes place one year before Z Nation none of it's original cast is involved. Netflix has however hinted that we might see some cameos in the show’s future. Rose (Jaime King) and her compatriots trying to reach a destination that promises to provide safety. But instead of trying to make it through an overrun city to a sports stadium, they are seeking out a rural airstrip where they hope to make contact with a plane that has been providing occasional supply drops in the area. And they aren't alone.

Bridgerton

Netflix original series Bridgerton absolutely must be streamed in one sitting! I stayed up one entire evening into the wee hours of the morning to stream this entire series and then watched it again a few weeks later - IT ISSO GOOD! The drama-romance takes place in the competitive world of Regency London’s high society, where a number of young girls are presented and tasked with finding a suitor. The stakes are raised when a mysterious woman named Lady Whistledown begins writing a column about the goings-on of the day, complete with gossip and preferences for specific pairings. Dramatic twists, intense love scenes, and even some hijinks ensue.

Bridgerton Season 2 and 3 Coming!

Sweet Magnolias

Sweet Magnolias is another feel-good series to stream - BUT WHEN is the next season coming out!!?? Sweet Magnolias follows three South Carolina women, best friends since childhood, as they shepherd each other through the complexities of romance, career, and family.

October Faction

October Faction follows the story of a monster-hunting couple, Fred and Deloris Allen, and their twin teenage children, Geoff and Viv. Following the death of Fred's father Samuel, the family decides to go back to their home town Barrington-on-Hudson to arrange the funeral.

The Kominsky Method

A comedy starring Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin and IT IS SO FUNNYY!! Acting coach Sandy Kominsky has to deal with loss and his new responsibilities as someone who must manage the massive fortunes of his late friend in Season Three. True to form, things swivel madly from the sublime to the ridiculous as he learns a few things about life and second chances.

Ozark

Ozark opens with Jason Bateman’s life falling apart. And this shows makes me want to buy a cottage in the Ozarks! After a money-laundering scheme for a Mexican drug cartel goes wrong, financial advisor Martin "Marty" Byrde proposes to make amends by offering to set up a bigger laundering operation in the Lake of the Ozarks region of central Missouri.

Ozark season 4, a final 14-episode season split into two, is in the works.

FATE: THE WINX SAGA

The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their enchanting powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence. I adore My Teenage Drama shows!!

The Witcher

The Witcher is an absolute MUST STREAM. The fantasy series is very much fantasy, starring Henry Cavill, who I’ve been a fan of since he starred in The Tudors (which isn’t on this list, but is another MUST WATCH series). The Witcher is a monster hunter who begins to question why so many princesses have been turning into creatures.

 The Witcher season 2, which is finally coming towards the end of 2021.

The Sinner

Three fascinating seasons of The Sinner await to be cracked open, each one focused on a murder committed by an unlikely offender in even stranger circumstances. Season 1 follows Jessica Biel's Cora, who stabs a man to death on a beach in a sudden frenzy, but has no idea why. It's up to Bill Pullman's Detective Ambrose to unravel the shockingly disturbing events embedded in her psyche that lead to her being triggered. Season 2 and Season 3 do not have Jessica Biel but do include Bill Pullman and they are GOOD!!

Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders is an older series from Netflix, but one last season is coming out! My husband and I have actually streamed this series twice we adore it so much!! Peaky Blinders is one of my absolute more favorite series of all time!! I rank it up there with Sopranos! Peaky Blinders is an epic following of a gangster family of Irish Traveller or Romani origin set in Birmingham, England, in 1919, several months after the end of the First World War in November 1918. The story centers on the Peaky Blinders gang and their ambitious and highly cunning boss Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy).

Longmire

Longmire is MY all-time favorite cowboy series and it makes me want to move to Wyoming. Longmire is a crime thriller that follows the life of a sheriff who is rebuilding his life after the death of his wife.  Walt Longmire is the dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Widowed only a year, he is a man in psychic repair but buries his pain behind his brave face, unassuming grin, and dry wit.
