Rainbow Rice Krispie Treats

Rainbow Rice Krispie Treats

We recently had a little family movie night party in our home to celebrate the release of the movie Trolls. One of the delicious treats I made for my kiddos (and myself, who am I kidding) was Rainbow Rice Krispie Treats.

Rice Krispie Treats are always an easy treat to make, but believe it or not, putting a bit of color to match any celebration or holiday just makes them all the more tasty and super special. Your children will be requesting these fun treats all the time.

They are just as easy to make as regular Rice Krispie Treats too!

Directions:

  1. Spray a 11 x 7″ glass dish (mine are from IKEA) with a non stick cooking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan or pot over low heat and add the marshmallows until everything is completely melted.
  3. Put 2 cups of cereal in separate bowls.
  4. Add an equal portion of the melted butter/marshmallow mixture to each bowl of cereal.
  5. Using a toothpick, get a small drop of the icing color and add to each individual bowl with the color of your choice.
  6. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Do this with each bowl.
  7. Evenly press each colored layer of the treats into the glass dish. Pressing firmly with sprayed wax paper in between each layer.
  8. Place in the refrigerator to firm.
  9. Cut and Enjoy!

You could add as many layers as you like as well! I was trying to match the colors of the Trolls!
