We are a baseball family! We really adore baseball. Watching baseball, playing baseball, and going to baseball games. There are so many different ways to enjoy baseball. One of our favorite summer family activities is to attend a Minor League Baseball game and I have some amazing tips for enjoying baseball games with kids and how to have the best time. There are so many things to see and do at the stadium, and so much food to eat when you attend a game at the Northwestern Medicine Field!

Above the left field bleachers is where you’ll find the Cougars Craft Beer Cave where you can enjoy 50+ different craft beers. Behind the right field bleachers is the Wannemaker’s Grill where there is a great variety of grilled meats and sandwiches. My personal favorite is South of the Grill, try the chicken tacos. My girls always get the same food items at every game. Hot dogs, cheese fries and peanuts and a side of more peanuts! There are so many great food options at NMF, be sure to go hungry!

Minor League Basesball Games are big on crowd entertainment!! The Kane County Cougars team really makes every kid feel like a professional baseball player with their inclusive activities. There are on-field promotions, freebies, contests, games, raffles, and photo opps.

We introduced our kids to America’s favorite pastime so many summers ago by bringing them to several minor league baseball games. We attend minor league baseball games because the tickets are really affordable and most of the seats in the stadium are super close to all the action. We went to visit our favorite team, the Kane County Cougars a few weeks ago and can’t wait until the next game. We always go early to scope out our seats and then let the kids go to the Kids Zone to have some extra fun. Now that the Ballpark Concert Series is underway, we can’t wait to go early to the Northwestern Medicine Field and listen to some of the area's greatest bands with the free pre-game concerts.

After the kiddos had their fun in the Kids Zone, we bought some snacks, peanuts, of course, and sat down to see pre-game activities. Once the game got underway, we were all set to watch the Kane County Cougars knock it out of the park. The score was 0 – 0 until the Snappers scored at the top of the 1st inning. Then the Cougars scored at the bottom of the 1st inning and the game was tied.

At the bottom of the 2nd inning, the Cougars scored again and pulled ahead of the Snappers. In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Cougars cracked it up and scored two more runs. The Cougars brought in one more run in the bottom of the 5th inning to bring their score to 5 runs and kept the Snappers at 1 run. The Cougars score ONE MORE RUN in the bottom of the 8th inning and that was it! We knew there was no way the Snappers were going to score 6 runs in one inning. It was an exciting game to watch!

Always remember when attending a baseball game — DO NOT leave the game early! Stay and enjoy all the innings! Even if the Cougars are down by a few runs and it doesn’t seem like they will be coming back to a win. Don’t leave early! The Cougars need the fans full support! And, your family might just miss the most amazing comeback. The best home run might happen in the very last inning. Stick around, enjoy the moments!

Another reason to stick around is the amazing fireworks show at the end of the game on the weekends AND running the bases. Running the bases at the end of a Kane County Cougars baseball game is the highlight of the night for my kids. They have been running the bases at Northwestern Medicine Field stadium for almost a decade now.

Going to a Kane County Cougars game is definitely the best family fun night because no matter where you are at NMF stadium, there is always something fun to see. We love watching the game and the seventh inning stretch was so much fun to watch!. And, of course, singing Take Me Out to the Ball Game is an American Tradition at baseball games!

Families need to head to Geneva and take in a Kane County Cougars baseball game this summer! We throughly enjoyed our family night with the kids. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening. The crowd at Northwestern Medicine Field was full of families and couples. There were also groups of friends taking in the game and so many children having loads of fun!.

Be sure to bring the entire family and your extended family and even friends and family from out of town to a Kane County Cougars baseball game. A Kane County Cougars Baseball Game is definitely a favorite summer activity everyone will enjoy and the perfect family fun night or weekend afternoon! Imagine watching a MLB draft. My kids really like to speculate about who they think can win the next League Rookie of the Year Award.
