I am not fortunate to have a biological mother in my life. My father died when I was 18 and I have been alone since that time. However, I have a wonderful women who has "(not formally) adopted" me, taken me in and guided me through my adulthood as a woman and as a mother. She was the one constant I had in my life and she is still around today! She even thinks of my children as her grandchildren as she has none of her own.

I believe some women are not fortunate enough to have a fabulous mom in their life growing up. I was on my own and really had to forge my own path. I met this amazing woman and she opened her arms to me. She showed me what a functioning mother/daughter relationship is all about. She has guided me through so much in my life. We are both quietly in each other lives; not overbearing, but always there when needed. She did not give birth to me, but I believe she was hand selected for me

I am so grateful for the mom in my life, and the opportunity I now have to be a mom to my own little people. There is no greater gift. As a mother myself, I think we love and desire to serve our family. We tend to live a life full of unselfishness and complete devotion. Our lives deserve to be applauded daily and not just on a specified holiday.
