Sangrita María

Bloody Mary

The St. Regis in Mexico City, Mexico has perfected the "bloody mary" and it is well known as the Sangrita Maria and is quite tasty! Mexico’s ancient spirit, Mezcal, ignites this fiery elixir alongside agave salt, spices and guajillo chili.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 oz / 7.5 ml chile pasilla purée

  • 1/2 oz / 15 ml premium mezcal

  • 1 pinch black pepper

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 5 dashes Worcestershire sauce

  • 5 dashes Maggi

  • Seasoning sauce

  • 1/2 oz / 15 ml lemon juice

  • 8 1/2 oz / 250 ml cold tomato juice

  • Agave salt

  • 1 lemon wedge, for garnish

Directions

For chile pasilla purée, blend a pasilla pepper with a little water. Mix all of the ingredients in a 12 oztall glass rimmed with agave salt. Garnish with the lemon wedge.
