Summary: Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment  announced today the continuation of summer fun and thrill points as JUDY MOODY AND THE NOT BUMMER SUMMER,the irresistible family comedy based on the best-selling book series, arrived on Blu-ray and DVD on October 11.

The first film adaptation of the beloved children’s book series, JUDY MOODY AND THE NOT BUMMER SUMMER,by Megan McDonald with illustrations by Peter H. Reynolds, is a delightfully, laugh-out-loud hilarious treat for adventure-loving kids, tweens and adults.

Feisty, fearless Judy Moody (Jordana Beatty) is looking forward to the most super-duper, double-rare summer vacation ever. The trouble is, her parents are called out of town and her BFFs are going away with their own families. That leaves Judy trapped at home with her pesky brother Stink (Parris Mosteller) under the watchful eye of Aunt Opal (Heather Graham). But with a little playful planning - and a lot of imagination - Judy turns a snoresville summer into the way-not-boring adventure of a lifetime!

Our Judy Moody Viewing Party:

My children invited friends over to view the newly released DVD, Judy moody and The Not So Bummer Summer DVD. (I just want to quickly add that we have watched Judy Moody and The Not So Bummer Summer DVD twice since this viewing---cute, cute movie!)

My house was ready for a viewing party. I was prepared with goody bags and snacks and treats and sleeping bags and pillows on the floor and pink boas. Each friend couldn't enter our domain unless they remembered their (previously mailed) VIP PASS. Upon entry the girls were given a pink boa to wear and boys were given the option to wear one if they wanted (all declined). Each child was given a mood ring to ensure they were in the proper Judy Moody viewing mood. (if they weren't, the tickle master was standing near by).

After everyone had arrived, we all sashayed into the kitchen to create some caramel covered apples. The children had so much fun creating their own little masterpieces.

The children had the option of six different televisions to view the Judy Moody DVD and they all chose the smallest room in my house (go figure). I crammed the children into my little one's bedroom with piles of pillows and sleeping bags and popped Judy Moody and The Not So Bummer Summer. {and} I literally did not hear a peep for the next 90 minutes aside from giggles and peals of laughter.

I asked all the children how the movie was and I heard a resounding "Awesome" -- "Can we watch it again". "We love Aunt Opal".

I then fed the children full up on sugar and and salt which was perfect to hand them all back to their parents right? They all left with a goody bag full of journals, mood rings, sleep masks & other fun items to keep them entertained. Everything for young imaginations! Plus the all received the certificate as a new club member to the Toad Pee Club!

I have since watched the movie with my children for family movie night and what a perfect movie for the night. Judy Moody is the most hilarious little red head (who, surprisingly, reminded me of my own third grade self). Her parents are leaving her with her brother, Stink (more great books by Megan McDonald -- can't wait for these movies), her Aunt Opal, who she lovingly refers to as Aunt Awful (but she really is quite fantastic) and all this after her besties dessert her for the summer. Judy devises a thrill-tastic summer involving thrilling events such as tightrope walking racing, Scream Monster riding, all with a dash of a midnight stakeout, Bigfoot and you get a fabulous Judy Moody Summer!

Go, go now, buy the DVD!

Disclosure: I received Judy Moody party supplies to host a Judy Moody viewing party. I have not been compsensated in any manner. My opinions are my own.
