We have been attending Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus shows for the past 12 years! And each year we are thoroughly amazed! Ringling Bros.® Presents Circus XTREME did not disappoint!
We were able to make it to the ALL-ACCESS Pre-SHOW - which I highly recommend! Mabel, the baby elephant made her appearance and painted a picture this year. Circus XTREME takes a trip during this show and were wearing gorgeous costumes during the opening presentation, I loved all the colors in this show.
Robert Stipka & The Desert Goddesses: The opening act begins with six girls riding double humped camels and performing acrobatics. In Circus XTREME, Robert leads a caravan of six magnificent two-humped Bactrian camels with their exceptional Mongolian Cossack Riders through an amazing ballet of animal artistry.
Clown Alley: The clown entertainment between the acts is, as always, hilarious!
Danguir High-Wire Troupe: There the show continues with a trek to Mt. Everest. Tight rope walkers were entertaining. I love when they just jet run straight across. They were even jumping over each others shoulders, jumping rope, girl splits, They played a double hopping game, stood on each others shoulders standing and walked across the tightrope. The girl even did the splits on the tightrope. This act takes place 1300 ft in the air and they concluded with a four person tower.
Gemma (“The Jet”) Kirby: They next moved on to shooting a girl out of a canon. The human canon girl is always great. It doesn’t get more extreme than shooting yourself out of a cannon — and human cannonballs don’t get more daring than Gemma Kirby.
The Circus Skydivers: The next act was numerous aerialists who were flying about the air wearing glow in the dark costumes. We have not ever seen this act before and it was very cool. A constellation of Circus Skydivers plunge from bungee cords in an enchanted black-light display of high-spirited teamwork that elevates the imagination!
Clown Alley: The clowns came out whilst they were setting up for the next act and they were wildly amusing! Various costumed acrobats, with Aladdin-esque costumes were singing and dancing as well as stilted men.
Mongolian Marvels: The Mongolian strong men were up next and were simply tossing about kettle balls(one strong man lifted three), and huge steel balls. There were also Asian women contortionists and acrobats performing. The strong men were flipping girls around, and the strong man made a tower three high person tower and flipped one girl up on top. The strongest strong man lifted 551 lbs with teeth and they concluded with a group tower. This troupe is featured in a one-of-a-kind showcase that combines the Mongolian cultural style of the strongman, the ancient art of throat singing, the skill of contortion, the circus acrobatics of hand voltige and the traditional style of Mongolian dance, all with a modern twist that takes this presentation to the extreme
World-Renowned Asian Elephants: Next up was educating the public on the care of elephants with five elephants and their trainers. This is one of our absolute favorite acts. My girls LOVE the elephants. The were born in captivity, and the trainers work with the elephants their entire lives. One trainer has been with his elephant for 11 years, since his birth. The matriarch of the elephants just hung around with her pals as they are like a family. Did you know elephants love bread?
The Sirens of the Sea: After intermission was a group of acrobats hanging from steel balls suspended in the air performing acrobatic moves. Some were dressed as mermaids and were quite beautiful. These daring aerialists astonish audiences while suspended in mid-air from giant orbs that descend from the circus sky.
The Art On Trampoline: The next act was the boys on trampolines, one 15- ft tower and two trampolines! My son LOVES this act! The Art On Trampoline troupe takes gymnastic talent to extreme heights. Showcasing precise control, impeccable timing and exceptional strength, these astounding gymnasts propel themselves higher and higher as the audience cheers them on to new heights. This tower has been specially constructed to allow these Ringling Bros.® professionally trained champion gymnasts to freestyle in, out and all around for everyone to see!
Tabayara Maluenda: Always one of the most thrilling acts! Tigers !! In Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Circus XTREME, Taba and his entourage of 16 exotic Bengal tigers demonstrate an intimate bond between human and animal that is unforgettable!
BMX: BMXers! Super cool new act! This will appeal to all your tweens and teens for sure! This adrenaline-charged performance is a daring display that will make any street or park performance look like a leisurely ride.
Clown Alley: These pranksters have a passion for laughter, and with their wacky antics, clever talents and hilarious parodies, they’re taking comedy to the extreme! These Ringling clowns are really good at keeping the show going in between acts and during the clean up processes.
Benny Ibarra: This guy scares me! He is A-MAZ-ING! Daredevil Benny Ibarra raises the bar on fearlessness in a high-energy circus performance that keeps Children Of All Ages on the edge of their seats! Masterfully maneuvering the 16,000-pound Wheel of Steel, Benny attempts to control gravity, while spinning 50 feet above the arena floor in a calculating display of centrifugal force.
Alex & Irina: Alex and Irina lead a comedy troupe of comedic canines in one of the most animated poodle performances ever found! Celebrating their second tour with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®, Alex and Irina work flawlessly together, presenting audiences with fun-loving results from years of dedicated training and abundant love for their extended family.
