Moscow Ballet's The Great Russian Nutcracker
Moscow Ballet performs the Great Russian Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and more classic Russian ballets in over 70 cities annually across North America!
My Thoughts: I have been going to theater production for the better part of 20 years and I love almost everything I see. I have seen small productions, large productions, intimate productions, ballets, plays and loads of Shakespeare and symphonies. I think as a Chicago reviewer of theater, I am a bit spoiled. In order to give a fair review, I believe that companies supply reviewers with good seats.
I was so excited to take my youngest daughter to see the Great Russian Nutcracker and she was so excited to see the Nutcracker ballet. She dressed up in her fanciest dress, high heels and even had me curl her hair. We picked up our seats and found them in the very last row of the theater in the highest balcony. We were so very disappointed. I understand the tickets were free, but there were so many better, empty seats, in the theater that I was so surprised that they placed me in the very last row. I don't think this was an ideal seat to give a fair review of the Nutcracker.
That being said, what we could see when the stage was well lite was lovely. The dancers were in perfect unison with the music. The music was beautiful! We couldn't see any details of the costumes, but I imagine they were also beautiful. Once the lighting on the stage was dimmed based on the story line, it was almost impossible to see the dancers. I wish I would have known and I could have brought along some binoculars for my daughter and I like the ladies in the entire row in front of us.
Tickets are on sale now for Moscow Ballet’s celebrated Great Russian Nutcracker on most cities on the 2015 North American tour! Families love Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker! It's the ultimate holiday tradition and creates memories for a lifetime.

I would recommend getting much better seats than we were provided.
