Last Saturday I woke my girls up bright and early and we were off for a girls morning of fun and creativity. My girls were so excited to be spending the morning with just mom and only girls were allowed. They knew we were heading somewhere to create and make journals and have a girly good time.
One thing my girls love that has been passed down from me is a love of paper. All sorts of paper! I have a bit of addiction to paper. All kinds. Luscious, fragrant, decorative, crunchy, textured, smooth. And things made of paper too. Also have a bit of an obsession with stickers. Thank God I scrapbook otherwise I would never be able to justify this obsession. I have bins full of scrapbooks that my girls drool over!
Thus I knew they would love getting their Shine On Saturday morning at Gap Kids with a wonderful campaign running right now in my area (and other beautiful cities as well). Merrilee Liddiard of Mer Mag has joined forces with Gap Kids to host a series of special art project events at select GapKids stores across the country.
Designed by Merrilee Liddiard of Mer Mag, the projects were inspired by the GapKids and babyGap fall collection, including the best new 1969 denim - Jewel Box Skinnies for girls (the new skinny jean updated in bright stretchy denim) and Action Stretch Denim for boys (designed for play all day- it’s denim that’s made to move).
My girls were able to join in the Shine On Saturday creativity and "create" a journal. My girls were most excited about this because of their love of paper and all things paper. They have been carrying around their journals all week and creating delicious stories and pictures.
There is one more Shine On Saturday event left this month and I higher recommend you get your littles into GapKids to create the next masterpiece with Merrilee Liddiard.
