Assassin's Creed: Revelations! {Review}

Journey back through time and learn how to be the perfect Assassin in the latest installment in the franchise, Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

Ezio, Altair and Desmond once more face the danger of the Renaissance Era in the latest title from the Assassin's Creed franchise: Revelations.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations picks up where Brotherhood ended. Ezio travels to the crossroads of the world, Constantinople(Istanbul) to locate the discs that another assassin has left him to find. Ezio is now older and wiser, but still able to fight with the best of them.

I offered to review this game for my husband. I knew he would gobble this game right up. My husband is a huge gamer, but since the birth of our children, obviously, the playing time is put aside. I handed him the game promptly when I opened the package. I knew I was not going to see him the entire weekend (and I didn't).

I popped downstairs a number of times over the weekend to watch my husband play and to get his input on Assassin's Creed: Revelations. I have to say the story is engaging and I was able to follow along with no issues. I had no previous knowledge of this game at all. The character transitions are well thought out and I especially loved the different segments of Altair.

One interesting aspect is the ability to create bombs with different ingredients from the world and having different effects. At first my husband struggled to figure out which bombs to create for a specific situation. But, he quickly figured it out and loves this feature. {At times, this feature can become quite graphic, so remember this is an adult game} As you travel around Constantinople(Istanbul) you complete side missions, locating discs, purchasing and protecting property, collecting data fragments and much more. The hunt for the discs generally takes place under Istanbul in dangerous caverns and caves.

The underground sequences are spectacular. I could just sit and watch the story unfold for hours. The graphics are just amazing on AC: Revelations! Additionally, the audio is just as amazing. My husband has the gaming unit setup in our basement on surround sound (we have speakers all around the room, even in the ceiling), so you really felt like you were right there with Ezio/Altair/Desmond.

This game tells a story and its really, really good.

My husband currently has about 12 hours into Assassin's Creed: Revelations and I know come holiday break, he will be banking up a lot more hours. If you are looking for an adult game for your husband, brother or partner, look no further. Be sure to purchase Assassin's Creed: Revelations HERE in time for your stockings.
