Scavenger Hunt Sunday: 6.9

Today is the day where I am going to show what I did this Friday. I made a lemonade stand! I loved how it turned out. The children and I had so much fun putting it together! I am scheduling Lemonade Stand Mini Sessions for this weekend and I needed some setup photos and practice with the area and lighting. The children were more than happy to assist.

Dishes  I love how these old tiny milk bottle or carafes, not sure what they are called, worked out for the lemonade.

Favorite Color  I either wear black or white and sometimes navy. But, mostly black or white. That is me, I'm so boring. As you can see, it's what I dress my kids in as well. Sunflare I didn't pick the best time to photo these shots of my kiddos, but I was scrambling for time that afternoon and the sun was not in the optimal place for me. But, it all worked out in the end. Expression I could not have asked for this if I tried. This is what happens when you suck on a lemon! Sticky Lemons that are used for lemonade make for very sticky children.   When Life gives you lemons... Make Lemonade...

Cheers to a great  Lemonade Stand!

"There are always flowers for those who want to see them"

I'm thankful for my life . . . I really am . .  I could not have imagined this life for myself, even on my best dreaming day. I;m full of gratitude to my husband who provides me the opportunity to stay home with my little. I'm full of gratitude to God that he has set this wonderful life before us. I'm full of gratitude to my wonderful children and the spark of who they will be someday shows through.

Sometimes I forget though . . .

Like when my kids were arguing this morning. My daughter was acting rudely to her sister, while my son was shouting for me to come because they were bothering him with their silly argument. It was so silly too, they were arguing over a pencil. My little one then decided to use an entire skein of yarn to wrap up all her stuffies, while my other daughter decided to write in pencil all over her desk. Agh! I don't like these days too much.

Morning like these can lead me to be full of self-pity and think "Why can't my kids ever get along. What am I doing wrong?" These thoughts usually spin the morning in the wrong direction and we tend to be off for the remainder of the afternoon as well.

Or I can decide to be full of gratitude. I can think, "Well, at least the girls are looking for pencils to complete their work." and "Look how adorable all these stuffies look all wrapped in this colorful yarn. She's amazingly creative." and "My daughter is so artistic." {but secretly pray she will find paper next time}.

I remember that I have a beautiful home and that I get to stay home with my children all day long and enjoy these times when there are peals of laughter and hugs and love and kindness. So out with the bad thoughts of stress, worry and fear. I'm leaving that behind and focusing on the good and the goodness will spread to my children.

Right?

We Are Winding Down

This has been a busy week for us as we finish 'officially' finish up for school and head into summer school. The weather has been playing tricky tricks on us as well this week. Rain, sprinkles, lightening, thunder and very little sun. I can't figure out what is going on this spring.

I was actually able to get my son to agree to take a couple of photos for me. {t takes loads of coaching these days as we enter the pre-teen years} He even smiled for me - a rare treat indeed!

I'm letting my son take a two month break from his guitar lessons over the summer months. He works so hard during the week and I've decided to let our music schedules relax a bit for June and July.

The girls had their last violin lessons for the school year today as their violin teacher travels and plays during the summer months. My daughter will be auditioning tomorrow for a area orchestra and she is extremely nervous. I know she will play splendidly!

I took the children to the city last week to enjoy our wonderful sights and the children had so much fun playing and splashing around at the Crown Fountain. They literally were soaked through and through and this silly momma didn't think to bring a change of clothes. Thankfully, there were some discarded pants and a skirt in the car as well as our jackets. They road home half dressed and wrapped in towels. It was quite hilarious.
