Christmas Tree Picnic & Traditions

I'm still desperately trying to get in the holiday spirit this year. If my children have anything to say about it, I will be all full of merry and silly and cheer in five days! I've been super busy with non-holiday tasks and I think this has kept the spirit from sinking fully into my heart. In addition, I've been battling with my Asthma this year on a level that is simply and slowly killing me! (not really, but really, it is) I also have a serious case of acid reflux and the two together are giving me some fierce headaches and heartburn. My meds have been switched up a couple of times in the past few weeks and making me a bit wonk-a-doodle!

Advent & Christmas Books

Today I spent a good hour wrapping books up . . . new books, old books, forgotten books . . . . not just any old book though . . . holiday related books . . . you know . . . 'tis the season books . . . I scoured all my children's rooms for any book related to Christmas, Baby Jesus, holidays or snow. I ended up running out anyway a couple of days ago to fill in the gaps to complete my stack of 24 books!

Each day during the month of December I will read one of these books to my kids before bed as an addition to the celebration of Advent. We will end with 'Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve.

December 1st

. . . here it is past 1 am in the morning again and I am still up . . . I must stop doing this . . . we had a visitor arrive this new day . . . and I needed to ensure that everything was setup just perfectly for his arrival (and that everyone was soundly sleeping before he arrived . . . especially since I have little light sleepers in my house who all have these amazing radars that go off just when I am about to do something I don't want them to know about) . . .
