An Ordinary Day

Here is a photo tour of an ordinary day in my life.

I have to say at first I thought this task from Jessica would be a breeze. But, Jessica, this task was HARD! To remember to take a picture every hour was very hard. I kept forgetting all day long. This task made me realize quite a few things . . .
I am "just a mom" and sometimes wish I had my career back. Especially after viewing all these pictures. How boring I am now! My life consists of waking up, making coffee & breakfast, changing diapers, feeding the dog, driving kids to and from school, letting a dog out no less than 25 times throughout the day, cleaning, laundry, cooking lunch, more cleaning, more laundry, changing more diapers, playing ponies, playing at the park, watching babies sleep, more laundry and more cleaning, emptying the dishwasher (my least favorite chore in the world), cooking dinner, cleaning up after dinner, giving baths, reading books, getting snuggles before bed. Not all in this order, but most days, yes, all these tasks.

This is not the life I envisioned for myself when I graduated college and landed my dream job. This is not the career path I had in my head as I marched down halls as a Sr Financial Analyst. I was great at my job, I was on a fast path in my career.
That all came to a screeching halt the day my son was born. Well, not that day, but three months later when my maternity leave was up and I could not part with my new baby at all. I was a stay at home mom, something I would have been completely embarrassed to admit 6 months previous.
So this is my life, I am "just a mom" and I love it. I would not change all the ketchup kisses for my previous salary. (well, maybe if they gave me a raise)
