The Tree Cowboy ~

this is what I call my brother. My baby brother . . . my little brother . . . my brother who hates to be called my little brother even though he is six years younger than me. Perhaps because he is a grown man with an 8 year old son and perhaps because he is over 6 feet tall! hee hee . . . I don't know. But I don't think I will ever stop calling him my baby brother.

My little brother came down this past weekend to spend some time with us, more so my husband (which is totally fine with us, we love to have him around) and he decided that he would finally climb up our BIG oak tree and trim some dead limbs. My little brother, The Tree Cowboy, makes his living climbing trees. (he works for the local power company and is a licensed arborist as well) He is incredibly talented and literally climbs like a monkey. I don't know how he does it with those long, skinny legs of his. But he is amazingly talented! I was quite nervous when he started to climb, but I calmed down after a bit. Our tree is all trimmed up and minus one big, dead, ant-infested limb!

If you are in this area and are in need of The Tree Cowboy, just send me an email and I will put you in touch with my brother!

Oh, and he is totally single too!

What a beautiful tree! And your Tree Cowboy's not hard on the eyes either! I wouldn't have been able to watch him climb around up there, I'm just too much of a worrywart.

That is a very interesting profession. Must be calming to be in the trees all day...um, except for the danger part that is. Great talent to have in the family though.

Maybe my son is destined to be a Tree Cowboy, he's forever strapping on belts and ropes and climbing trees ;D

Great photos. I just had two huge, beautiful trees taken down, I wish I had known about the Tree Cowboy.

What a handsome brother you have. That first picture especially is so cool. Lucky you to have a tree cowboy. Having a tree trimmed is NOT cheap. :)

June 2, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterangie

Very handy to know a good tree cowboy! He looks like he really enjoys it too :)

What a job! I don't think I've ever heard of a Tree Cowboy before! I hope he's never gotten hurt up there!

Awesome pictures!

June 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMarissa

Hee, hee looks like he does that often!

June 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJ. Leigh Designz

I've seen guys climbing and cutting like that too. They are amazing! Who would ever think that someone could just be born to climb trees?

I love the blurb about your brother being single too. I'd love to hear what he thinks about your advertising for him. I'd probably get shaving cream in my hand the next time I fell asleep anywhere near my sisters if I did that.

Happy WW!

ok let's try that again (My hubby's account)

What a great "Little Brother" you have.

June 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMichelle

Awesome brother you have. I have a 'little' brother too. 5 years younger and hates it too when I call him my little brother. I guess it would be a bit embarassing for a 6'4 sheriff to be anyones little brother LOL.

Tree Cowboy! Ha! I love it! I have a baby brother who is 80 ft. taller than me, but somehow they'll always be little to us, huh? :)

June 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterApril

I love your little "he's totally single" comment!

EEAAKK I think I would have had a heart attack watching up in the tree!

A magical WW to you!

June 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

I always wished I could climb a tree. I've honestly never in my whole life climbed a tree!

And right now I've been doing just what you said: laying by his bed. Or rather, I lay my head on his bed until he falls asleep. We've put his old crib up as a toddler bed (he was in a different toddler bed) to see if that helps. If not, we're totally fine going back to the crib. With our move, a new bed, a new house. I think it may have been a bit too much for him. :S Thank you so much for your kind advice, though!

June 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMrs. S

June 3, 2009 | Unregistered Commentercrunchiemummy

That is nuts. He is brave, but that sounds like an exciting career. I love that you are totally pitching your bro as silly to us. LOL. :o)

Happy WW from Sara @ the Mostly Wordless Wednesday H.Q.!

We could sure use a Tree Cowboy for our dying weeping willow in our Back 40... ;) Will your brother travel to PA? ;)

Those are awesome shots of the tree and your 'baby' brother - I love that you still call him that or 'little brother', because I do the same thing to my 'little' brother just to bug him...(grin!!)

Happy WW! :)
