« Photo Story Friday ~ Hunt for Red October »

Finally – fall has arrived. Crisp air has replaced humidity, a chill has snuck into the early morning, and most importantly, maple leaves are transforming into splendid hues of red, yellow and orange.
With the air fresher than ever, families should remain healthy, right?

Well, not in my house. I am once again battling with the roller coaster ride of sneezes, snot, vomit, coughs, sleepless nights, Motrin, Tylenol, Sudafed, sick kids home from school, washing every single article of cloth in my house, spraying everything down with Lysol, possible strep throat already, oh and a lovely letter home from school informing me that someone has lice at school.

People it is ONLY October 8th!! I can't take this for 6 months!

I'll be sitting on my wood floor tonight because I spent the better part of the day cleaning all my carpets and furniture and everything is wet. That should help with the germs, right?

These pictures of your children are fantastic. I've been trying to find that site for the preying mantis eggs. Not having luck, but will let you know when I find it.

I hear you. I hate cold/flu season. And my son is in kindergarten this year and I'm terrified we're going to get a dreaded lice letter...I would majorly freak out if he got lice!
Adorable photos too!

I swear it all kicks in the second school starts!

I have been told that coconut Suave shampoo and conditioner keeps lice away. I don't know if it really works or not but I always use it on my guys. (It makes me feel better anyway.)

I hope everyone recovers quickly.

Ugh! Good luck. I hope that everyone feels better soon.

Great pictures though.

oh...I'm right there with ya! I just finished posting about my sick lil baby boy and our ER visit for him last night. I'm worried it'll be a long winter with 3 lil ones...

hope you're all well again soon.

Stopping by from PSF.

I know what you mean. This cold season has hit fast and hard.

We're having the same issues out here. This is supposed to be the greatest time of the whole year -- who didn't get the memo?

October 8, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterChris

Yikes I hope everyone gets better soon! Keeping my fingers crossed for healthy kiddos over here!

October 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commentershortmama

Oh bless :_( The good news is that since it is only october, you should have a snot and vomit free december!
LOVELY shots of smiling kids (must've been before you washed everyone with lye to make sure noone got lice) ;-)

Oh, btw-- they don't medically treat or notify about lice over here so we've taken drastic measures. My kids use tea tree shampoo. That or coconut. Oh, and lice don't like hair products, hard to hold onto the follicle, so gel away girl!

The only down side to this time of year is the craptastic weather changes (hello 60 one day 80 the next and 62 w/rain the following) I tell you - I don't know how to dress the kids and they ALWAYS end up with a cough/runny nose. It is SOOO not fun. I do hope your family gets feeling better soon! :(

Beautiful kids. I hate the fall germs too.

I always hate when the house has to be closed up for winter. It seems like as soon as the air stops circulating through the house the germs start to breed. Good luck. I’m making children’s books today. If you want to wander down my road http://ladygaladrielkj.blogspot.com/2009/10/photo-story-friday-book-for-sweetings.html" rel="nofollow"> I’m home.

Ugh. Seems like the whole country is getting sick season early this year.

October 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterFoursons

Not at all fun. Hopefully you will get it all over and done with and be healthy for the rest of the cool season...... well one can dream, right?

Our little town has been hit by the sicknesses and the lice! YIKES!

I hope it leaves your house quickly...it should after all your cleaning!

Oh they are just so sweet. I hope everyone feels better soon. I'm really dreading this cold/flu season. Seriously losing sleep over it in fear.

I'm with you sister. Over on my side of the world..the monkey has the flu and the peanut has an ear infection - they spent the whole week indoors with me -- and we went the doctor 2x's this week. Sending you good and positive vibes - we need 'em. By the way great smiles on your kids and what curls! Too darling.

Your children are photogenic. Just love the photos of them looking through that panelling.
There is a distinct chill in the air here too.
